Work Life Balance

By Janice E Hill

As we begin to emerge from our quarantined lives there is a lot of uncertainty in the world and how to navigate our new norm. Everyone has experienced life differently as a result of this pandemic and no doubt there will be many things that change for everyone both personally and professionally in the future.

I had an increased level of awareness about how valuable time truly is in the weeks that followed COVID-19 without work to keep me busy. I was reminded of how precious life is and the time spent with family should not be taken for granted. Work can often consume us if we let it, yet family members are not around forever. I took the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and accomplished things that had been out of reach in the past.

I am extremely grateful to have had this time to reflect and act. Moving forward, despite the unknown I will be mindful of how my time is spent and strive to maintain the best work-life balance possible.

“Time is really the only capital that any human has, and the only thing he can’t afford to lose.” - Albert Einstein.
