Self-reliance is not common anymore. It started to fall away with the convenience and speed of the world. Why figure out how to do anything yourself when it’s all just a click away?
No longer is a simple click simple. It’s political. Technically increasingly impossible. The “things” that we thought we needed we no longer want.
I hope the impact of the pandemic will be each of us doing everything we can for ourselves. Then doing for others in any way that we can. Finally examining the ways that systems can support us all.
COVID-19 has shown the system to be not much of a “system” at all. Just a bunch of people. Some of whom can and do. Others fearful. Many incapable. We collectively need to level up. Get tough. Be resilient and capable.
